Getting back to normality now, Yuki has ventured away from the pups for a quick run around the garden (she would not leave them before, (only for time to do her personal business).

She agreed to a quick walk this morning and we were able to confirm that she had 2 Dogs and 2 Bitches. Pups are very active and seem to get bigger every time I check in on them. The light brown pup seems to cuddle up to Yuki more than the rest and is the family favourite because of its uniqueness.

Although eating plenty of bits of chicken, and cereal etc, Yuki is only eating small amounts of her normal food - but I think this will change over the next few days

Puppies are a week old now and thriving - they all had pink noses at birth, but with exception of the light brown one they are gradually changing to black.  Pups are very strong and are giving Yuki a hard time during feeding but she endures it with no complaints.  Yuki is letting me get nearer to the pups each day (allowed to touch them now)  without the warning growl! that she used to emit as a "don't go there" warning.  She is also going for walks now so my wife and sons can tidy the pen and check the pups while we are away.  During feeding its funny to see how the pups battle for the best position, one is always on its back and another one whines like a new born baby until it is completely comfortable and in its preferred spot. Sometimes you would think they are going to stand as they push their front legs out straight, but it is a bit to early for this yet.

2 Weeks Old

The pups are all thriving and have all opened their eyes.  The two males on the 6th June and the females on the 7th.

Getting quite vocal now and very active between feeding and sleeping.  If Yuki is not looking, it is possible to pick up a pup and hold it, she then just wants to lick it as you hold it and does not show any aggressive tendencies - trying to pick one up as she is watching is still impossible but she has relaxed a lot from when they were just born.

Yuki is eating between 2 and 3 times her normal diet and is drinking about 4 times her normal intake

3 Weeks Old

Big difference now - the pups are all walking, wrestling, biting each other, and being very vocal.  This sometimes happens all at once is is hilarious to watch

We are having an awful time deciding on the pup/puppies we are going to keep - they all have their individual merits.  We intend to keep a female but are torn between the "Wee Brown One" and the "Big One" below

Anyway - have started to introduce the pups to milk/water softened dry kibble, very hard when Yuki wants to eat it as well.  Will keep her out for an hour tonight (18th June) to give the pups a chance

Week 4

I will update this diary every 1 - 2 days with news on the puppies as they grow and develop their own personalities
