Yuki
We brought Yuki (Japanese for Snow) to our home the day she was 8 weeks old.  From an early age Yuki always wanted to be the leader of the pack (family) and even though she quietened down eventually, she still tries at regular intervals to become the pack leader.

I am currently preparing a full description of how Yuki progressed from her arrival with us to the present day.  As mentioned on the home page Yuki is having pups soon - although 6 weeks pregnant she has still not increased in size much but will rapidly over the next 2-3 weeks.

Yuki was mated with Storm 22nd March 2008, below is a account of how things are going to date

Week 1 - 2
There has been no noticeable difference in Yuki

Week 3
Yuki's stomach has become firm and she is not as playful as usual (about that of a non husky dog)

 Week 4
Slightly larger now and lethargic, she is also more possessive with food. Stomach getting firmer

Week 5
Stomach is swelling more and her body has started to adapt to having to feed the litter!
Ultra sounded by Vet - living pups confirmed with an expected litter of around 6 pups
Started worming  from day 40

Weeks 6 - 7

Getting very tired now, her walks have been decreasing by the day. Yuki's size has also changed dramatically over the last 10 days as before it was hard to tell she was "in pup".

At home she is content to just lie down and watch us in the garden (except during BBQ time).  The hot weather is not helping and I have filled a paddling pool with water for her to cool off.  Trying to get her used to a nesting box for when the puppies are born with limited success.  Has big soft eyes that beg attention all the time.

13/5/08  I have just changed her diet to puppy food to give her and the pups the extra protein etc they need.  She seems to be making milk now and her teats have enlarged
15/5/08 Yuki is finding walks tiring now and actually sat down this morning for a rest. She is also eating and drinking more
